Conho Valley, View of Roca Negra and Rocalva

Vilar da Veiga, Terras de Bouro

From this viewpoint it is possible to see, along about a two kilometer length, the rectilinear course of this section of the Conho river which has here a deeply incised v-shaped cross section. Despite the steep and rocky slopes, virtually without soil, the valley bottom contains a significant density and diversity of plant species, including some species typical of a Mediterranean climate.

At the top of the surrounding mountains the granite massifs of Rocalva and Roca Negra are outstanding with their pink colours along with other ridges that seem to peer down on us.
