Eira do Tapado - Parada Espigueiros

Lindoso, Ponte da Barca

We come into Parada by way of the Eira do Tapado, an ancient communal threshing floor, where a magnificent group of twenty-one espigueiros, dating from the eighteenth and 19th centuries, stand. They are arranged around the central threshing area and located in an airy and sunny position. The design and structural shape of these espigueiros are similar to those at Lindoso, made of granite, rectangular in plan and with latticed walls. They are very well preserved.
